From having owned the E46 M3 with low profile tires and now this 996 for short time I have learned or some might say become more neurotic about checking my tire pressures.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

From having owned the E46 M3 with low profile tires and now this 996 for short time I have learned or some might say become more neurotic about checking my tire pressures. Especially this time of year when temps can fluctuate widely. What do you all think or does anyone have any experience with this tire air compressor?: http://www.autobarn.net/airprocorcor...01&PID=1408109 I have been looking at it for a while and liked it because it can be used cordless or can be plugged into the car's lighter. I just haven't been able to find anyone else that carries it, or find any reviews of it.

POST 3Original post

I don't have any experience with that compressor, but unless it's better than non-tank type compressors I've used in the past, I would be suspicious that it would be very slow at increasing tire pressures. I bought a small Craftsmen compressor with a tank from Sears last year, and does a good job for my needs. It can bump up the pressure in just a few seconds vs. several minutes for the 12v compressor I had before. Maybe this one's better...

POST 4Original post

I've been using the air pump that came with the M5. I bought a new one (they sell them separately at BMW dealerships) and keep that in the M5. The tire "juice" is in a separate bottle. The Pump is strong enough to fill the tires and has a gauge that really works on the pump. Check it out!!
