Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

27 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have been thinking about getting a 997 coupe (2006 or 2007), so have had the car up for sale for a while to see if I was going to get any bites. I am at the airport to go on vacation to Europe and negotiated final details with the buyer... $37.5K. We will finalize when I get back in the country. Strange feeling... love the car and was a big hobby. Guess I am in the market for a replacement now!

POST 2Original post

Wow. Seems like a good price. Bring the 997 to VIR in November.

POST 3Original post

Great price, and best of luck with the replacement!

I like that!

POST 6Original post

Great time to be shopping for a replacement. Congrats.

POST 10Original post

$37.5k?? Awesome, congrats man! I'm also about to list my car for sale, hopefully I can sell at a good price like you did. I'm in the same boat, I want to upgrade to either a 997S or 996TT.

POST 11Original post

Wouter, Good for you! Oh, BTW, it's about time you came to your senses and got a Coupe! OK "Cab Guys" I am just kidding!

That's the idea... know of any nice 997's out there? Probably an '06, maybe an '07

Quotes source post: 6717582

Maybe if I would have sold the car for $57.5...!!

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 6717932

You are actually correct. Really did like the cab, but it's time for a coupe now.

Oooh, that makes me nervous. I'd close the deal NOW if you can. A lot can change in a few weeks.

I know... unfortunately we are a continent and 6 time zones removed. Scheduled to close on the day I get back into the country. He is a local guy and wants to buy local as well. Absolutely trustworthy, but agree that it would have been nice to close the deal before I left for Europe.

POST 17Original post

whats in Europe, what country(s) are you hitting.....

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Am in The Netherlands now and will be going to London for a couple of days as well.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, you gotta love this. Back from vacation and scheduled to drop car off at buyer and exchange the cash... I am about a mile away from his office and CEL comes on... Met with buyer and told him I can't sell him the car this way... good thing, he still wants to do the deal, but obviously wants to know what cause of CEL is and wants things fixed. Went to dealer yesterday and it is the catalytic converter... covered by warranty . Car at dealer now and buyer and I are scheduled to meet tomorrow to exchange title and cash. Hopefully all will go well! In the market for a 997S Coupe... Any leads? Will post on 997 board as well.

POST 20Original post

No offense to the 997, but if you like the track - 996 GT3s are smoking deals right now... -td

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Money changed hands... I am officially where I was 3+ years ago... No Porsche and looking hard for the perfect one!

POST 25Original post

Mid 30's to mid 40's for an early 996 TT. It is the deal of a lifetime to me. Crazy power and a much more bulletproof engine than the M96 that the NA cars got. Only significant problem is that some of the transmissions pop out in second gear. Better than spontaneous engine failures I say.

Congrats on the deal. I'm breathing easier for you now! What fun place to be: money in hand, in the market for something new.

POST 27Original post

Indeed. Now is the time to buy a car if there ever was one.
