Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

it's just I have been doubtful lately of the part numbers and their applicability, having just replaced a bad cat with an earlier car's cat which worked perfectly anyways.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys... I have a line on a used set of euro M030 shocks, springs and sways - yet they are from a 99 car (and mine is an 02), and it looks like there are two separate part numbers for the early and later 996's. Is it true the early stuff won't fit a later 996? Bummer, if so! Thanks!

POST 2Original post

When I was looking at suspension upgrades I never ran across that, AFAIK, they are exactly the same. The part numbers MAY have been updated...go to Renntech and do a price search on the part numbers and see if one is an SS for the other (substitution). If so, you're safe. I know I put M030 sways on and have PSS9s from a 99 & 2000 and they fit fine on my '02

...they won't fit your 993...

POST 4Original post

well... going with the logic that the Mk1 are lighter than the Mk2... they are not the same. They may fit, but the spec on them wont be the same... Im staying at a Holiday Inn tonight.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, I figured as much... it's just I have been doubtful lately of the part numbers and their applicability, having just replaced a bad cat with an earlier car's cat which worked perfectly anyways. Thanks guys.

Garrett, I think there was an article in panorama a long time ago about these, you might want to check that out. Hopefully they work out, because I'm tired of them taking up room in my garage, and you could buy a couple tires with the money you save.
