Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. When I used to drive my cobra convert year round I used Blizzaks.
Leading evidence: 'Use blizzaks' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use blizzaks' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well as Im attempting to sell my uncles C2 for him Im realizing how much I really love 996s. However, I would like to only have one car and I do live in the snow belt. So Im definetely condsidering a C4 for my next car.
Ive heard the C4s AWD system isnt a true one in that it doesnt stay AWD for all speeds? Is this correct? When does it stop being AWD? Anyone who has driven one of these fine cars through all seasons want to tell me their opinions?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff

C4S has an AWD similar to most high end AWD, it is better than the all-time 4WD you see in cheaper SUV's, and thus C4S is pretty much a rear wheel drive at most times unless the front tires need more grip and then it becomes an AWD, this is what makes it cool as it behaves like a rear drive sports car, and yet it is great on corners and for quicker exit speeds off corners. YOU definitely don't want a sports car spinning all four wheels all the time, I don't think there is any true sport's car available that way.
C4S is great on snow with snow tires. It is an awesome car, good luck in your search.
he is looking at a C4 not a C4S jeeva
anyway, the AWD system found in 996s distributes power about 95% rear wheesl, and 5% front wheels during normal diriving conditions.
under extreme circumstances, it can transfer up to 40% of the power to the front wheels, hope this helps.
ive heard that with chains or snow tyres, or both, that they are excellent in the snow.
What is this then that I heard they only stay AWD under ~30mph? Is there any truth to that? At higher speeds if the wheels begin to slip does it transfer power??
Thanks!
Jeff
I drive mine all year round. Put some snows on it around Thanksgiving and you can drive it thru just about anything. It such a blast to pull up to an SUV at light with snow on the ground. You should see their face at the next light, they all give that "very impressive" look. 17" or 18" tires it doesn't matter, the car is just AWESOME!! Get one, you won't be sorry.

I just got an '02 C4S and intend on driving it year round. I would prefer to get another full set of wheel/snow tires. What suggestions do you guys have in terms of tires? Wheels?
Thanks,
Josh
I've had a 2001 C4 and now a 2004 C4s Cab... they are perfect in the snow, WITH SNOW TIRES, I have dunlop winter M2's and without them I can't get up my driveway, with them I can traverse through 5" of snow with no problem.
Most people think that a C4 or C4S is great in the snow.
