Hi everyone, I'm looking at buying a 2000 Carrera 2 Cabriolet. 30k miles for around 49k Any problems that I should look out for? Any known technical difficulties? Going to be checking it out some more today. I know that the stereo system is supposed to be pretty weak. How have people been upgrading? I have a ven4 from my BMW that I can use if I can just use a line converter. Thanks for any help!

Complete maintenance history. Clean PPI. Clean CafFax. Warrantee. Do some extra reading so are well versed with the 996. Excellence: vol 131; Market update on the 996 and 986 (a place to start) There are a number of good books on used 911 that you can get on Amazon.com. Enjoy your purchase.

Pre Purchase Inspection, which is best done at a trusted third party. Excellence is one of the better U.S. based Porsche magazines. Take your time. The market is flush with 996's. I personnaly like the look and improvements of the 2002 and later 996's.
