Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

No, it doesn't work. Do a search here and on Renntec h.org and you will find several threads on this subject. There are many differences in the storage area, etc. between the cabs with plastic rear windows and the newer cars with glass. If you look in PET you will see that the parts for the boot, etc. change with the glass window, also the rear wall and roolbar configureation. This is a source that does a top with a glass rear window for early model cars, but the window is much smaller than the plastice window or the newer glass windows. You will probably find info on these tiops is the threads.
There is actually a company (aftermarket) that has been doing replacement tops with glass for the 986 for some time now and have recently added the 996CAB line to their lineup. I forgot the name of the company but they ALWAYS advertise in Excellence and/or Pano.
They've got a couple glass windows on Ebay right now. $1,200 I think. Do a search under Porsche 996 parts and it will pull up. The glass window is smaller than the plastic one so you lose some visibility.
There were some issues with te early GAHH tops.....they came apart in the corners... someone else here got one installed, had to send the top back for them to look at it before they sent him a new one for replacement...his car sat for weeks at the installers....I am not a fan of the small window...I actually prefer my plastic to a small glass window.....its larger, just as clear and who knows when the top is down....if the weather is really bad...throw on my hardtop....
yeah I have to agree...I was interested in a glass rear until I found out it is smaller. My plastic is just fine right now..and true...if it got blurry or foggy I can change it out then but for now I prefer driving top down anyways!
