Black Pelican is a historic building that used to be the rescue station and later the telegraph office that the Wright Brothers sent the historic post-flight telegram from. Pay-as-you-go. Menu includes sandwiches to entrees,
seafood and steaks. Casual and reasonable prices.
Did this in November (2006) and if anything the trip to the Wright Brothers museum is well worth the trip and price of admission. I know for somebody like me that grew up the son of a fighter pilot and loving aviation the whole place is just very surreal and emotional. To stand on the very spot(s) where the Wrights made their first (and the subsequent 3 flights) is something that really is hard to explain. Make sure and attend the histoy lecture. After all that you are not amazed how incredbile what they did was and where we have come in aviation in the following 103+ years.
Amen Dell! I've been there twice myself. I've been working in the avitaion maintenance field for 20+ years now, so I could surely appreciate all the advancement/leaps and bounds from where and how we started.
This should be a good run.
