Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have "drips" directly below the expansion tank. Usually after a hard run I have quarter size spots just below the rear drivers side tire. No drips at all until I drive again. The coolent level reads low after a year. Need to cap off now Whats the problem? How much does it cost at the deal/indi shop

POST 2Original post

You have the exact same problem I just had. The coolant tanks are prone to crack on the 99's. Just replaced mine over the weekend and problem is gone. Contact Sunset Porsche in Oregon for the best prices around. 15% over dealer cost. Part numbers: 996.106.147.56 Tank 996.106.447.01 Cap 996.641.503.00 water level switch Find the replacement procedure at the following link: http://basketcasemotorsports.bravehost.com/Tank.htm Nick

POST 3Original post

Although it could be a poor fit on the cap. Of course it would be obvious by the fluid around the cap. I've had it from time to time on my '01. The dealer replaced the cap with a newer design, and no trouble since.
