If I'm trying to torque the bolts on part #19, which torque values do I use 46 Nm on both or 46 Nm on one and 65 Nm on the other.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've got some serious creaking and groaning from the front end on my 2001 C4. When I press directly above either shock I can replicate the noise. I was planning on checking the torque on the stabilizer bar as I found recommended in a few other posts and ran into some confusion. Here are the specs from the manual: Specifications - Front Suspension Notes Stabilizer On Side Member 65 Nm Stabilizer Mount On Stabilizer 46 Nm Stabilizer Mount At Shock-Absorber Tube And Wheel Carrier Note: Carrera 2 85 Nm Stabilizer Mount At Spring Strut Note: Carrera 4/911 GT3 46 Nm Stabilizer Mating Bearing On Spring Strut Note: (lock nut) 911 GT3 50 Nm Here's a picture of the connections in the shock area: If I'm trying to torque the bolts on part #19, which torque values do I use 46 Nm on both or 46 Nm on one and 65 Nm on the other. Where is the connection to the "side member"?

POST 2Original post

Looks like 19 is your drop link. I would think the lower value (46) would be where it attached to the sway bar and the higher value (65) would be where the drop link attached to the control arm. Hopefully somebody can chime in to verify. You also might want to try over at Renntech.org since Loren seems to know EVERYTHING!!!!!
