Though I think you should be able to find a very clean, lower mile, 2007 C2 or even C4S for the equivalent price of a 60k mile 2002 996 Turbo.

I'm looking around to replace my 2000 911 c4 and i do not know yet which one would be the best one.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello folks...,
I'm looking around to replace my 2000 911 c4 and i do not know yet which one would be the best one.
I was looking for a 2002 red turbo gt2 looking with only 60K on it or
a 2006 carrera red with 55K on it for about the same price
Which one would be the best one to choose regarding the resale value, reliability fun to drive and all...?
Thanks
Robert
A Turbo is a special car. It will also hold its value better as it is near the bottom of its depreciation curve (whereas the 2006 is still declining). At least both are red! My next P-car will definitely be guards red. I like my current black 996, but there is just something about a guards red Porsche. The guards red Turbo had better come with a bat.
996.2 Turbo wins for Mezger engine & huge power.
997.1 wins for prettier exterior, improved interior.

I'd be inclined to pick the turbo, but I think the question you need to answer is: Why are you upgrading? The answer to that question should help to guide you as you make your decision. If you want a slightly updated exterior and an updated interior, as well as a newer car, then the 997 is a good choice. If you're okay with the 996 body and interior but want the power and uniqueness of the turbo, then it's a good choice.

I would personally go with the turbo as most people dont even notice difference between a 996 and a 997. Plus you get a much better car and alot more fun to drive.
Go with the turbo. If you want to go up the 997.2 with DFI engine and no IMS then that's another story but would be more money. What is the asking price, around 45K?
