Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

21 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

HI guys, I have looking through some pictures of member's cars and realized my car does not have an airpump and the hose from the TB which a TIP should have! I Drive a 2000 C4 TIP. Cheers

POST 2Original post

Secondary air injection was not required in some markets, not a cause for concern.

POST 3Original post

yeah congrats that stuff is just dead weight you don't need it!

POST 4Original post

Yes, don't worry, be happy! The weight-loss must be worth at least 5hp....

POST 5Original post

That will give you more space when it comes time to replace your coolant tank.

POST 7Original post

POST 8Original post

POST 11Original post

POST 13Original post

Any car equipped with one will throw a check engine light w/out it. Secondary air injection doesn't weigh much (the pump +all the piping couldn't be more than literally 2-3lbs) and it helps the catalytic converters light up much quicker. It only comes on for a few seconds when the engine's very cold when you wouldn't get on it very hard anyway.

DAMIT! DAMIT! DAMIT!

POST 15Original post

2ndary pump is your friend.... these cars smoke enough on their own on start up.

POST 16Original post

Yeah that's an ROW car, works great in Singapore, but bring it to the states - the DME program probably wouldn't pass smog.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thats good to hear! My car runs fine without it anyways.

POST 18Original post

Figures, my car just threw a check engine light b/c of a flaw in the secondary air injection...

POST 19Original post

i love that whirring sound when i start her up! It's part of all the sounds that sound so cool when you get in the car!!! I know, i know, i should get a life!! Pete

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is it right that my car does not have a breather tube attached to the throttle body since it's a tip?
