Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My rear seat belt receptacle failed this weekend (failed to latch) and I need to replace it. I'm guessing that this is a simple job, but a quick search has not revealed any instructions on how to do it. I would appreciate it if someone could point me towards instructions on how to do the replacement. Thanks in advance!

Yes, I think I can handle one bolt, but thought it best to check if there were any gotchas, as I couldn't find a schematic. I've never had a seat belt receptacle wear out before - very odd. I thought my son was being a dufus when he said it wouldn't fasten.

POST 7Original post

The seatbelt design is not durable. I had to pay for the airbag light fix which was just grounding the seatbelt receptacle with better wiring a few years ago.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All done. The part arrived overnight form Leith Porsche, cost $41 and took 5 mins to install. No gotchas, nice and easy. As advised it was as simple as removing the plastic cover and replacing after removing the bolt. I can now get my car back to being the school bus.
