Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The car is a 2003 996 C4 Cabriolet, RoW (UK spec). I will only clock up around 7-8,000 kms a year, and it's had Minor maintenance done last year. I'm planning to do another Minor this year as well as spark plug change as the last one was done on 2007 when it had a Major maintenance work. However the dealer recommends a Major as the last one was done on 2007. The main question is whether maintenance schedule is mileage as well as year based?

POST 2Original post

Is either or... So if you don't reach the miles in 1 year maintenance is recommended. At least that is what I am doing

POST 3Original post

Elapsed time or mileage are the determining factors.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

'kay, thanks. Just making sure that the dealer is not just tying to make a few extra bucks.

POST 5Original post

you can replace fluids yourself. these cars are fairly easy to work on. surfer161

I bought the car only a few months ago, and no, none of the warranty company wants to touch Porsches. This means that I'm getting on the good side of the dealer in case something catastrophic happens to the car. If I can show consistent maintenance they'll be most likely happy to look at my case (hopefully). The labour cost difference between indy and OPC is about NZ$15 per hour.
