that's exactly the extra set I use for summer/track.

Im just learning how to use the gear box even better now with less brakes.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just purchased a 2002 C4S with 17k miles. I traded in a 2008 Cayman S in on it. both are 6 speed i love the C4S so much the sounds alone was worth the extra money. I was wandering if any of you have experience between these 2 cars (years shouldn't matter). I have noticed the only one thing I don't like. The brakes in the C4S seem noticeably weaker. Is this my car or are the brakes weaker in the C4S. The car was CPO'd on 12/8/08. I see the brakes were checked but just wanted to know. The car is amazing this is just a small ***** in the armor. Im just learning how to use the gear box even better now with less brakes. If the C4S just has weaker brakes what has any one done to combat this? Thank you very much in advance.
Weaker? No way! The C4s has turbo brakes, slotted rotors, etc. Never have I felt that my brakes were weak in any situation.
That being said, the Cayman S has a totally different feel. It's lighter and mid-engine, etc. More like a go-kart compared to a 911.
I think that they can feel deceptively light during light braking and daily driving, however, get it on a track and they will clamp down tighter than a virgin's thighs at a porno convention.
Congrats for stepping up from the Gayman!
I have only taken it out on good drives twice since i just picked it up on monday. I love the sound of the sport exhaust and I end up just wanting to hear it more and getting in trouble, speed wise. I am taking it to a track event on January 30th cant wait for that just wanted to make sure that it is good to go before I go ring it out on the track. Is there anything i need to have done to the car (modifications and such ) that u feel should be done or that u have done.
Thats what i was thinking im an intern at the dealer right now so i will take it over next time i can wrestle it away from my father and have that checked out.
It depends on your budget...if you have the PSE you can mod it so it stays on all the time...I would suggest a BMC F1 cotton filter in the stock air box. Other than that your car is already damn near perfect.
Man, you guys are really slipping!
Stradleboy, welcome to Rennlist and congrats on getting a nice looking P-car. Well, at least I think it is nice looking, but I can't really be sure because no pics have been posted! <hint hint>
+ a gazillion!! Welcome to the bright side! You'll love your car. Also, you will want to get yourself a shortshift kit asap...it's a world of difference. If you love the car now, wait until you put the SSK in....unreal and I think Eric at Bumperplugs.com (a sponsor on this great site) has the best deal on them.
Or maybe you can get stock unit for cheap? Anyhow, you have my twin car....congrats! Mine is covered in snow as we speak...can't wait to get out and mush thru the snow.
Happy New Year all!
J
I would love to post some pictures of it but not sure how to on this forum I am used to Ferrari-chat posting pics please help me and I will post pics for you. To the short shift kit the 1 reason I love the C4S is the long throws which to me is porsche in the gear box. Had the SSK on the Cayman S and really do enjoy the long throws.

You didn't ask.
Besides that, I thought you already knew how to post pics. Something must not have worked correctly, because teh upload washed out all of the color!
Get the brake (and clutch) fluid replace with new fluid since it's probably not been previously done. You'll be amazed with the difference in feel. I had mine replaced around 45k and both the brakes and clutch pedal felt more positive.
Great car. I had a 2002 C4s prior to my GT3.
