Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 2Original post

I would do them in pairs. At $215 per for 295's is a deal. Upgrading means more $$$ for tires. The Sumi's have a harder compound while the pricey tires are softer and last less.

POST 3Original post

are you happy with the sumi's? at 10k the rears should be about spent... ge a pair of rears.... If you no likey the sumi's get (4) of something else

POST 4Original post

Get at least two new rear tires that match the fronts.

POST 5Original post

I agree with the other comments... get two new ones. They are affordable, so it's not a huge deal.

Get a pair. (Is there an echo in here?) Porsche guidelines are if a tire needs to be replaced the other side should be replaced if 30% (or more) of the tire's wear life is gone. At 10K miles I'm quite sure more than 30% is gone, probably more than 50% (roughly I expect you get 12K to 15K miles on a set of rear tires). I have never used an non-N rated tires so I can't make a recommendation regarding the Sumitomo tires. I have of course had good luck with Pirelli, Michelin tires on my Boxster and Continental and most recently Bridgestone tires on my Turbo. However I do not track either of my cars. Sincerely, Macster.
