Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Audi coil packs, at least on the B6, also fail prematurely [1 unit on mine ~60k], but when taken to dealer for repair, they replace all of them, under warranty.

If you are going to replace your plugs, would it make sense to go ahead and replace the C/Ps?

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is there a specific recommendation on when to change coil packs? Obviously you should change them when there is a problem however is there a time to change them during regular maintenance?
I recently looked at my coil packs and they all look fine. I have about 75k. As far as I know, they are the originals.
I recently changed the coil packs on my cayenne turbo. The car is 3 years old, has about 1/2 the miles and ALL the packs were crack- 4 were cracked in 3 different places!!!
There is no maintenance interval on the coil packs.
Coil packs are part of the emission system and have an extended warranty on them. If you paid for replacement parts and still have the original parts, you may be entitled to a refund. You should discuss this with your service center.
Whenever they fail. My '87 still has the original coil on it. No reason that a coil pack doing 1/6 the work (of a traditional coil) should fail so soon.
Cheap German plastic is really the cause
Cory, I have to disagree with what you said. The way I see it, the "cheap German plastic" on your car held up longer than the Expensive German steel in your engine!

4 of my 6 coilpacks were cracked and misfiring at 55k miles. I replaced all 6 at that point. I'm just about to hit 100k and I'm concerned I'm going to go through the same process. We'll see how they look behave/when I change my plugs.
I agree with the comment about cheap plastic. Everytime I remove a plastic part/connector I'm worried it's going to crumble in my fingers. About 50% of the time I'm right.
