I was interested in one of the '04 Boxster Ss because of the significant discount, but the discount didn't look so significant when I checked the wholesale value of a Boxster S in excellent condition with 200 miles.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

old story. there are still 04 left? make sure it's not a used car. you could get over $10k on 996 last Nov without haggling. So it's got to be a lot more. selection is very limited if any though
At one of the dealers near Baltimore, Len Stoler Porsche, they have two '04 996s and four '04 Boxsters. One of the 996s is used with less than 1K miles and the other is new. I was interested in one of the '04 Boxster Ss because of the significant discount, but the discount didn't look so significant when I checked the wholesale value of a Boxster S in excellent condition with 200 miles. According to KBB the wholesale value of the Boxster S was $36.5K. The car had a sticker a little over $60K and they were asking $48K.
Fasti...excellent comparison of discounting to current wholesale value of the car....depreciation is terrible.....discounting for 04's seem to vary so much from 5 to 15K and the 06's will be hear soon
two area dealers offered me any Cab. at their real cost...probably lower if you pushed...don't know about the C4S....they were not anticipating any trunk money from PCNA then......I had a dealer out of state call and offer a '04 Boxster S at $5,000 under real cost a few weeks ago....
I'd bet you could buy any 996 at cost or below by month end
I have not seen any dealer incentives....
We have a few NEW old cars...
2004 Atlas Gray Cab... beautiful...short shift, sport exhaust
2004 Speed Yellow Boxster S with a damn rattlesnake wrapped around the center console (TIP)
2004 40th Ann.. w/ nav
2003 Slate Gray coupe
2002 White Cab Tip
poor inventory mgt.... and I was not hear... I may get the 2003 Coupe for my M3.... that way I drive what I sell... plus my M3 has good value in it and from what I see it will in the future... thank you bangle...
There is an black/black '04 leftover 996 Carrera on the floor over at a Porsche dealer in LI;msrp is $75K. What would be a reasonable price on this car? I'm thinking about it but I was in a hurry and didn't speak to the dealer (they were outside checking out the new Benz sedan). I want to go back this week.
Are the RMS and the other issues worked out on the '04 models? I want to upgrade from my 911SC and was looking at used 993s but if the deal on the 996 is good........
Thanks!
Assuming it is brand new, never registered and less than 100 miles on the odometer, I would offer them $15K off msrp. And the absolute maximum I would pay is $10K off msrp.
