Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm a long time reader, but a first time poster. I've been following the threads on the infamous "orange cap", so I thought I'd order a sample from Niagara. But I think they're on to us. When I try to check out, the page has been disabled. So does anyone have an extra orange cap I could buy? I'd rather not try a Coke bottle. Also, has anyone left the cap in during a DE, without a problem? Appreciate any help.

POST 2Original post

Call them and order it. The online site didn't work for many either. The lady is real nice.

POST 4Original post

PM me with your address, I'll send you one that I didn't use...doesn't work for Turbos.

POST 5Original post

Porshaphile, I've had my cap in for about a year and have been on the track numerous times. I just inspected the cap a few days ago and it shows no wear and no ill effects to the rest of the car.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's good to hear. Wross is sending me one, so I'll install it and head to my DE on June 2. Looking forward to the difference in the exhaust sound.

POST 7Original post

FWIW, i put one on my car and it made no difference in sound or anything. And two days later, I got a CEL with MAF codes. Never had that before, and after tossing the orange cap in the trash, never had it again. YMMV Steve 99 996 76 930 64 356C

Make sure you tighten the clamps correctly when you install it or you my bleed in air after the MAF and throw a CEL.
