Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I use Tire Cradles and have had no problems with flat spotting.

I will be taking my '99 996 out of winter storage, and I was wondering if there is anything I should check before I begin driving the car.

Check all your fluids including battery (which I hope was on a maintainer all the time).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I will be taking my '99 996 out of winter storage, and I was wondering if there is anything I should check before I begin driving the car. Should I be concerned about the tire pressure, and/or other fluids in the car that may have evaporated or leaked?
The car has been sitting in a heated garage for the past 7 months, and the engine has not been started during that time. Thanks.
Check for visible (coolant/oil) leaks under the engine and tranny. If present identify first before your drive.
Check all your fluids including battery (which I hope was on a maintainer all the time). Bring tires to your standard inflation.
Check inside your engine compartment for critters. Tail pipes and front "grill" too
Start car and drive away immediately slowly. Don't sit and warm it up. Keep it under 2500 for the first few minutes. Then no more than 3000 until the temp is up to 'normal'. Go for a short drive maybe 20 minutes or so. Keep windows open. Return car to garage and let sit for about 30 mins. Check all fluids again. Now add or top off fluids as necessary.
Go for a longer drive and keep revs below 3000 for a while and then gradually increase. Turn on your air conditioners and let it run for about 15 minutes while you take your drive.
I'd also refill with fresh gasoline as soon as you can.
I do pretty much what JimPDX does. Mine alway fires right up like I just drove it in the garage. This was my 5 th winter storage. No problems. I store mine with the top down and hardtop on. This also has worked just fine. I use Tire Cradles and have had no problems with flat spotting. Others use carpet and I guess that works too but I have never tried carpet.
I would suggest that you start the car and only run it at idle for about 5 minutes, then let it cool down before starting it again and driving. Serious mistake to let the car sit like that without starting it once a month or so. This will allow the seals to slowly heat up and hopefully regain their size and flexablity again before any oil gets behind them. Heated garage is better than a cold one, but if if can, it should be run to full operating temp at least once a month.
