hey guys, here's the situation, i bought some new sumi tires for the c4s, they have currently about 7000km on them. I started to do DE at my local track every tuesday since the opening of the season. And now, since my car is dropped and lot of DE, the rear are almost finished, would say 15-20% left I really liked the sumi and would like to buy new ones. I now have a second set of wheels, te37. still debating if i run te37 or my stock twist for daily should i stay with sumi and my 2 sets or buy a set of track tires for DE, what tires do you guys recommend? thanks!

Best bet particularly for someone starting out is Yokohama Advan A048. Alternatively, Khumos Victoracer V700, BFGoodrich gForce. True DOT's like Hoosier R compound are great but put a lot more stress on suspension components. Buyer beware.

No reason to get R-compounds at all since you just started. Stick with your street tires for a while. You'll have a good time and will still help you develop skills. -td

well, i wanted to avoid burning my daily driver tires, thats why i wanted a tire for the DE i will be at tremblant in 3 weeks for a weekend DE, but im still doing 2 runs of 20mins every tuesday at the local track..

Agreed about staying away from R-comps while you're still learning. If you want to have a set of dedicated track tires, for now something like the Bridgestone RE-11 might be appropriate.
