Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Reported cause
Not 100% identical to the symptoms my car's passenger door and door lock and window manifested but the cause was traced to a bad door lock.
Leading evidence: 'door lock' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'door lock' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean with no signs of water intrusion' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

At the dealer it cost about 2 hours of labor to replace and some of this time was the tech using the PIWIS to pull error codes from the car's security system and eliminating other possible causes (which were cheaper to address) before he tore into the door and replaced the lock assembly.

Inspected all micro switches I could locate, none appear to have physical damage.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've researched the threads on this forum as well as Renntech looking for a similar issue. (I know i need to join
)
Bullet points:
Driver door does not auto lock when driving. Passenger door locks.
Driver door does not lock with key fob and beeps fault. Passenger door locks.
Door locks with key.
Door intermittently will unlock with key fob.
Driver window auto lowers.
Inspected all micro switches I could locate, none appear to have physical damage.
Interior of door is clean with no signs of water intrusion.
No visible signs of corrosion on electrical parts or connectors.
Re seated all electrical connections.
My conclusion is the locking solenoid has an intermittent electrical short not related to its connectors.
Not 100% identical to the symptoms my car's passenger door and door lock and window manifested but the cause was traced to a bad door lock. This is a rather large (for a door lock) and complex (though the complexity is all internal) assembly.
At the dealer it cost about 2 hours of labor to replace and some of this time was the tech using the PIWIS to pull error codes from the car's security system and eliminating other possible causes (which were cheaper to address) before he tore into the door and replaced the lock assembly. There was some time after to reset the car's comfort settings.
Oh, the cost of the door lock was around $400.
Sincerely,
Macster.
I'm also having a similar intermittent problem with my door lock. Mine was diagnosed as "the door switch is not activating lowering of windows for proper door closure." It was recommended I replace the micoswitch. Since it's intermittent, I've decided to wait until it's aggravating or a nuisance (it's the passenger door, so I'm not on that side.

Was a thread on the mechanism having a clip that can come off. I don't know what the sensor of the alarm is looking at to find a fault but a durametric has an alarm section if I recall correctly. I would think the mech fell apart or the solenoid is failing or the connection is intermitent which is what it looks like to me.
