Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace sig' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace sig' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This morning, I noticed a red 996 Cab approaching from the opposite direction so I waved, but he didn't wave back. My first thought was "Pompous A$$hole!"
Then I remembered.... Duh!! I'm driving a !@#$%^&* Honda, not a Porsche!
No wonder he didn't wave!
Tim, you're breaking my heart. In the meantime, you might not want to wave to Honda owners - you'll be waving at every other car. Patience, my friend, you will be waving at Porsche owners again. I'm sure of it.
I suppose P-car drivers are more friendly in Dallas. I pulled up next to a Guards 997 cab yesterday and waved, and he just looked away, expressionless - like I had asked for money. Id always at least get a nod from S2000 drivers.
I've gotten waves from a few Honda drivers and I have always waved back. Of course they were of the fairer sex -- not sure if I would wave back to a dude driving a Honda.
I love it. I've been tempted to do that on occasions that I have not been driving my Porsche and thankfully realize that they would have no clue why I was waving.
We need to get you a bumper sticker that says, "my other car USED to be a Porsche"
we have a truck and a Highlander along with the 911. What is
really
a surprise is to take a cloverleaf at Porsche speed in a car/truck/SUV that is not your 911. Solution--get back in a 911.
Well then, perhaps it is not me and it's just a different time in the world. I for the life of me couldn't figure out why I rarely get a return recognition from a fellow P-car driver. In the early 70's it was a quick double flash of the high beams and that was almost always returned by the other Porsche driver. It's been about a year now that I got back in a Porsche and at first I tried the double flash of the lights - nada, nothing. Then I tried a salute type gesture, and then a true wave. Very rarely have I received so much as a nod of the head in return - I thought maybe it was me, since I have the rare P-car it seems - plenty of C4's, cabs, and TT's so I thought that perhaps simply owning a C2 in Artic Silver Metallic of the massesr might not be enough.......... Heck, in the 70's we even greeted 914's! And of course, I often think about how when riding my motorcycle, we all go so far as to take a hand off the bar to wave, regardless of what make or type of bike we pass.
My best memory was when I first drove my 1969 Corvette - it seemed like every corvette that passed was frantically waving at me - I told one of the guys in the shop that the previous owner must of had a lot of friends - he just laughed and said "no - your car came from California - the waving is a Corvette thing"
And so it goes..............
Anyone waves at me when I'm driving my Porsche gets a wave back, no matter what they are driving. I figure either their other car is a Porsche or they just appreciate a good car. Though sometimes I've noticed this strange wave (maybe it's a local thing) where they are just waving one finger. Anyway, I give 'em all five back.
Tim - get yourself a big bumper sticker which reads
'My previous car was a Porsche' - then they'll understand
And while we're talking, have you posted any #@****ing pictures of said Honda yet?
Well, I was thinking of posting some pics, but your reply squashed that idea. I wouldn'y be ashamed of the ricer exhausts, but since the car has only one exhaust (yeah, as singular) I am ashamed of it!
Jeeze, I wish Phil would post with some stupid question or something so I could give him a hard time, instead of giving myself a so much ****!
Oh, man, that is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. I love it!
I was laughing so hard that I had tears in my eyes and couldn't type the response right away.
Great job! I may have to change my sig to that version. I wonder if John would change my user name, too.
I've seen Wayne's Honda (at least that's what I think it was), and in fact, had the Porsche jumpstarted by it last winter. Sorry Wayne, but Tim's is MUCH nicer.
After 2 years in a 944 and not one returned wave I just figured no one liked 944s anymore. And as a Harley rider I am an 'automatic' waver
When I had my 911s everyone waved at each other, but now I guess it's the drivers that are different for the most part
whenever i pass or see a 996 on the road, i always wonder, "are they a rennlister?".
but it seems like "we" don't have an acknowledgment sign like the jeep "v".
I love it! Nice job!
I agree... I think they both look good.
Hey, less, mine is an Acura, so it's a nice Honda on steriods. That's the last time you get a jump start!
Tim,
The sig looks great! I laughed for a few minutes on that one
It almost looks like HONDA911 ?
Now about that Honda...it obviously needs some mods like clear side markers, lowered for sure and the GT3 lip spoiler to finish out the front. Finish all of that and then come back with your bitchin
