Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

i used the following thread for install which was easy (diy on page two):
Leading evidence: 'Use following thread' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check diy and he talk about dremel' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. I used a small hack saw and sanded smooth when I had my old stock bumper.

only thing i did different was used wire cutters instead of a dremmel to cut the overhang.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I bought an aerokit wing for my MY02 996, but I can't install it without some aerokit in the front, aka gt3 style bumper.
Does this lip would do the trick ? if yes, can anyone identify it ? is this oem ?
is it ok to put the aerokit wing with the splitter ? I know Porsche had a list of approved front aerodynamic part in order to put the rear wing..
Also do you think the rear wing will add or remove value from my currently 100% stock 996 ?
I wanted to put this on my '04 C2 as well. My concern was how this is blended in with the 2 black spoiler edges by the tires. I asked the gentleman on the DYI site how he did this, but he never really explained how or what he did, and none of the pics have a clear shot of what I am talking about. I would LOVE to put this baby on though, just don't want it to look half-assed at those corners!
yeah the GT3 bumper are just super expensive and look almost same as the regular ones I think. And I like my current bumper... I check the DIY and he talk about dremel... so I think he might have works the part a little bit to fit.
That is not the cup lip. It is the street GT3 lip. It is easy to do on the MkI as well like Ferdinand. I did it many years ago on my MkI CAB. I have a thread over on Renntech explaining it. Not hard at all.
This is almost identical to mine other than I have the side skirts. To save cost get the GT3-RS bumper, it's cheaper as it's a motorsport part.
The cup splitter does fit to the stock Carrera bumper, follow the instructions mentioned by others, you need to trim the ends slightly. I used a small hack saw and sanded smooth when I had my old stock bumper. It really does improve the look and at speed helps reduce lift. It doesn't produce any significant downforce but actually reduces lift by diverting more air from under the car.
The little black pieces I was speaking about don't really give a flush surface to mount the spoiler to! The rest of the under nose is nice and flat, and a piece of cake to mount the lip spoiler to. I did a similar chin spoiler on my '03 mustang GT, and it mounted beautifully, but the entire under nose was a flat surface. I know the install on the DYI site, the edges that stuck out too far into the wheel area, were cut off with a dermal.
Do these help. I curved the edges and sanded to mimic the original ends. The edges stick out anyway, that's what they're meant to do. It directs the air away from under the car...
Thanks so much for the killer pics. Where did you purchase this? I had the website for where the DYI guy got his and the part #, but lost it. I recall between $200-$300?
Any Porsche parts supplier can get it.
Part # 996 505 986 91 - GT3RS (AKA CUP) Splitter, this is the one you want, I believe it's around the $160-175 mark. About half the price of the regular GT3 splitter (part #996 505 986 92 01C)...
Have a read of this thread...

Thanks so much. Just ordered it from TRG $155 and......$78 to ship to Vegas!!! holy sh--!! And it's coming from CA!!! That thing shud get here yesterday for THAT shipping price
. And that was their CHEAPEST rate!! Oh well!

I have the Cup Splitter on my aerokit car as well.
If you are putting it on a non-aerokit car it may fit a little different especially near the wheel opening. There's a pic on here somewhere of one on a regular front end.
i can! that's my car and i put the splitter on there. yes oem 996 gt3 (not cup).

only thing i did different was used wire cutters instead of a dremmel to cut the overhang. it has held up perfectly... even with numerous scrapes. i love it. ordered it through my dealer (they paid for shipping).

I put my spoiler on it and am not real crazy about the side edges that mount back by the tires where the little black edges are. I may cut the spoiler back to have it end where those black pieces start. Looks are not so good to me, especially with my car being silver. But overall very cool and the front end seems better planted on the road at highway speeds.
