I just got new mats for my 996. I need to secure the four plastic male clips to the end of the seat tracks, which snap into the female clip on the underside of the mat. Is there a trick to getting the plastic mail clip under the plastic end cap on the seat rail? It was not obvious how the plastic seat caps at the front end of the seat rail detached. Any help would be appreciated.

slightly lift the plastic tab on top of the plastic cap with a flat blade screwdriver. This unlocks the caps and they can then slide forward and come off. don't lift those tabs too high or they will break.

Yep, piece of cake! While prying w/ the flat head, slide the plastic cover towards the front of the car.

It is a piece of cake. Slide the covers off as shown. The tabs from Lloyd's just feed right in. You do NOT need to take the seat bolts out. The tabs will sit right on top of the bolt heads. Slide the covers back on and clip them to the mats. I think the setup is just perfect. Never have understood how some here will complain about it. -Charles

Hey, anyone ever noticed how the one passenger cover is missing a small section that covers one side of the rail. The other 3 cover boths sides. I can see no reason for it. Wierd. You can get a front set embroidered from Sunset (and maybe even Suncoast) for under $100 shipped. I just got a black set with silver Carrera embroidered. Fit perfect. Very nice.
