Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hey guys is this normal.. I hear the engine fan running during start up for a minute and shuts off after I get to driving... I have a '99 996 C2. In my 996 Turbo I know it comes on when the engine is too hot especially after I park right after a track session. Thoughts? Here's a light burnout pic (yes the exhaust tip on the right was off and now has been aligned). More pics: http://www.fmotorsports.com/main/ind...ewtopic&t=1763

POST 2Original post

Hey bud that is not the fan but the 2ndary air injection... An emissions things. Happens every time you start up cold and quits out pretty quick after you drive a few blocks.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks Paul. I'm glad it's normal. So this thing is not present in 996 Turbos eh?
