Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

OK - Firstly I'm not one who normally complains... with that said I have to report on this bad experience so that someone else can avoid the same company and mistake. The history - purchased some wheels a company on ebay: http://myworld.ebay.com/eurowheelsus...MEFSX:SELLERID Everything seemed cool - great price and general response time was good. Purchased the wheels and shipping was fast. So far so good... Sent the wheels off to be painted and then noticed on the wheel having got them back that they are in fact Made n China. Great! I know, I know - I should have looked more closely when I received them. Hindsight is 20/20... Problem 1 - Wheels were not as advertised and were made in China and not in Italy as stated. Here's the add they're running now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/19-PO...spagenameZWDVW It STILL States they are made in ITALY... but are in fact are made in China. Emailed them about this and got no response! Waited... waited... zip! Problem 2 - OK - maybe it wasn't such a big deal that they were made in China. SO I decided to mount them. Turns out the radius of the cup receptacle inside the wheel for the lug nut is a different radius than the standard Porshce one!! F'in Great! Once again I emailed them... no response. Emailed them - got no response again - shocker! I have a local Engineering shop who helped me out with this and re-machined the radius of the conical washer for the new wheel. OK, now I'm happy. Problem 3 - After mounting them - I notice a vibration throughout the car.. it's actually very minor and some of it may be due to the 25 profile tires on the rear. Howeever, it's enough to slowly **** you off... I now have an appoitment with a Hunter 9700, spoke to the owner of the Tire Center who's actually at this moment very confident he can fix either the bad balance job, poor wheel or whatever is causing this vibration. So my advice... never use EUROWHEELSUSA on ebay, they're scamming customers and once they have your money prepare to be completely ignored. Here's the link to the ebay store: http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/eurowheelsusa/ STAY THE HELL AWAY!!!!!!

POST 2Original post

They have a very good feedback, can't understand that!!!

POST 3Original post

It's called hubcentric. That's the problem. The wheel is not sitting centered on the hub. The hubcentric washer should work. Just make sure there is a secure fit with only a few thousandths or less of play. The better the fit, the better the result. C.

POST 4Original post

The vibration you feel is probably from the machining of the conicals on the lug holes. I bet they are not concentric. The wheel balance is probably fine cause if not, the tire balancer would of not been able to balance correctly.

Not the lugs, the hub. Or am I mixed up? Nevermind...I was mixed up. C.

POST 6Original post

With some aftermarket wheels for Porsche, BMW, Benz you need plastic or aluminum rings for hubcentric. Once, you have them on the vibration should go away immediately.

Sounds like both as I reread. I had the same issues on my wheels off ebay. They were the wrong offset, angle of the conicals for the lugs were wrong, they were not hubcentric, and so on.

CHad, Not to hijack thread, but I have had a shudder issue in my front wheels since I put spacers on. I examined spacers and they appear to be fitting fine. The rims/tires were roadforce balanced on latest hunter machine and were near perfect. Could it be a bolt/lug issue? Or are the spacers (H&R) not machined 100%. It is only noticable at highway speed (75) and some roads worese than others. TIA, and love the new VW, I see you kept the same color scheme. Robert

I have a similar issue...only at highway speeds (70mph-ish)...I thought my wheels needed to be balanced better too. where do you get the rings?

POST 10Original post

I clicked on your link but I can't see anywhere in the ad itself where it says the wheels are made in Italy. Maybe they've updated the listing? The contact info I have for eurowheelsusa is: Bob Nafe 13664 East Laurel Lane Scottsdale, AZ 85259 United States [phone removed] You may want to try calling to see if you can resolve the issue....is it possible that they simply sent you the wrong wheels? I'm hoping that you can resolve it because, as coincidence would have it, I just purchased a set of wheels from them and they've just been shipped. I'm hoping that their positive feedback (98% on 1444 transactions) actually means something! Good luck

Robert, Sounds like the hubcentric issue. If the wheels are off by even less than a millimeter, you will feel it. Check to be sure the wheels meet the hubs properly. C.

Visit any wheels specialty shop, they should have them. Cost between $20-$30. Have them install it for you.

Not only will you feel it, the tire will be hopping off the ground at a mil.
