Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I personally did not get any tinting done by this guy, but used him for detailing etc.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

All you 996 tinters in the tri-state area...
where'd you get them done?? And for what price (if you don't mind me asking!)?
Also, does anyone know what the legal tinting % is in NY?
Thanks guys/gals...
Jon:
I'm moving to NY this spring and can tell you that the NY tint laws are a pretty limiting (I was looking to buy a car with existing VERY dark tint while still in MO).
Not sure on the nomenclature, but NY says only 15% of the light may be blocked. Not sure if in tinting terms that's an 85 or a 15. In any case, some OEM tinting (like many SUV's) is darker than that.

996 soon?
A 15% in tinting terms means that only 15% of the light is allowed into the interior of the vehicle. 85% tinting isnt even worth it IMO, anything higher than ~35% is not worth tinting IMO.
Just my $.02
I personally did not get any tinting done by this guy, but used him for detailing etc. Saw his work and he usually does top end cars for Manhattan Motor Cars a high end dealer in NYC. Very Nice guy, but not cheap. the web site

Thanks for the help guys..
I agree that 85% tinting is not worth it -- I was looking to get more around 20%! I personally like really dark tints on black cars, so I think I'm going to go with 20% all around.
Anyone with illegal tints have any issues from the cops in the NY area? I don't want to get tickets left and right if that is the case...
Jack, thanks for the reference.. I'll look into that shop and give them a call. Hopefully it won't break the bank!

It's a little place that does excellent work. They actualy do many cars for Benzel Bush, a MB dealer in Englewood. The owner is an asian guy named Frank. This place is less then 10 min off the GWB. I personally would not get below 35%, which is the lightest. I think it looks the best and will attract much less attention.
You will definitely get pulled over for dark tint in NY. They will love it because you're driving a p-car and they can pull you over for no other reason then for the tint - after a while you'll have it removed. It's really not worth it here.
