Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It was the first one he did, so I paid for a bit of his learning curve.
Leading evidence: 'first one he did' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'first one he did' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). I have checked Carnewal but with the exchange rate what it is, the parts alone are about $2600 before shipping.

I think that you'll be extremely happy with that setup and in fact, it's probably more forgiving on regular street driving than most would suspect because the springs are progressive rate, not linear.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am going to buy an X74 suspension for my 03 C4 Cab and I need some advice as to where to buy. I have checked Carnewal but with the exchange rate what it is, the parts alone are about $2600 before shipping. I'd appreciate any thoughts you folks might have.
I just send you a PM.
FYI : The prices on the website that say Euro shipping included actually include the freight cost with Fedex to the US. Most suspension kits or bigger parts on the site have the shipping cost included.
I know that the X74 package is a great one but have you considered going with H&R springs and Bilstein shocks? I think that you'll be extremely happy with that setup and in fact, it's probably more forgiving on regular street driving than most would suspect because the springs are progressive rate, not linear. I'm willing to bet that you can source that combination out for under $1300 USD. Ride height is very similar to that of the X74. All that said, the X74 package is factory and Gert is fantastic to deal with.
Keep in mind too that it cost me $1,200 for my local dealer to install the X74 and do an alignment on my '04. It was the first one he did, so I paid for a bit of his learning curve. Gert was helpful with him as far as alignment specs. I wanted a receipt from the dealer in the event I ever had warranty issues, plus some piece of mind. All in all, I couldn't be happier. Now if this snow would melt so I could drive the car again!
I agree that install was robbery. I could change out the four struts and spring in 2.5 hours, and I'm not a professional mechanic. The average backyard mechanic should be able to do it in 5 hours. Add an extra hour for the bars and an alignment, I could not see charges of anything more than 8 hours of labor. IMO $800 would be the most a dealer should charge you and thats on the very high side. It should be some where between $500-650.
Gert recently had the X74 on sale for $1,595 Euro (shipping to US included). Why don't you call him and see if he can do better than $1,995 for a rennlister? I was going to put X74 on my 04 Targa (but traded it first); a rennlister-recommended installer who know's what he is doing, here in L.A., was going to install it for about $350.
