Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm thinking of replacing the factory radio with something a little different but I wanted to get some advice. I currently have the becker with the Hi-Fi setup and a trunk mounted Porsche cd player. I'm thinking of getting an Alpine unit with the IPOD controller and XM satellite. My questions are: 1. Does anyone have any experience with the Alpine and the IPOD controller? 2. Will the Alpine control the Porsche cd changer? Or will that thing just need to be replaced? 3. What about the HI-FI setup (which I guess acts like an equalizer), will that still be functional? 4. Can anyone recommend a shop in the Houston area to get this stuff done? 5. I stopped into Car Toys and they told me that Alpine wouldn't work with XM any longer and that Sirius was the way to go. Is this true? I prefer XM but would go with Sirius in a pinch. Thanks for any and all advice. Tim

POST 2Original post

Personally I would keep the radio stock, I like the original stock look, aftermarket radios in the dash never look as appealing to me.

POST 3Original post

Have you looked into Rues Audio yet? The system retains all the factory speaker grills and factory appearance, but the sound is nothing short of amazing. You have to hear one to truly appreciate it. Get in contact with Rick, they can do pretty much anything u want.

POST 4Original post

Biernut - sounds interesting. Do you have any more info on them? thanks, kristap

POST 5Original post

Kristap, their website is http://www.reusaudio.com/ , phone number is [phone removed]. Again ask for Rick, he's an awesome guy and will take care of your baby. I urge you to try and get a demo, it is difficult to understand the quality without a thorough listen

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Although they look excellent I suspect they might be a bit out of the range I was looking to spend. Do you have one of their systems?
