Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

after 2 visits to the dealer in 1 weeks time, they were not able to do squat about the clanking/engine run-on sound from the tranny flywheel area.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

GHL going on tomorrow..
Bad news! after 2 visits to the dealer in 1 weeks time, they were not able to do squat about the clanking/engine run-on sound from the tranny flywheel area. THey said that it's a normal sound and that most if not all porsches make that sound upon engine shut off
I guess I can live with it if this won't do any damage to the engine/tranny..
At least they were able to fix the rattling noises from the passenger side door.. They also replaced the driver side window seals or rubber stoppers but i'm still getting wind noise. Maybe they need to re-adjust the window again.
Good luck with the muffler install. I've got a another set on the way to replace the ones I installed last week. GHL has been very good on this. They say that occasionally they encounter mufflers that leak at the cat sleeve connectors and if it happens, the will swedge the muffler pipe, which should fix the problem.
Tysons.
Looks like I spoke too soon.. On the way home from a friends house tonight I started to hear the rattles from the door again. And the wind noise is back.. I don't think its as bad as before but still noticeable..
This is getting on my nerves, Am I to take it back again?
The dealer said they fixed the rattles and wrapped everything with felt tape..Should I just deal with the noises?
You must be really freustrated, but go back until it is satisfactory. You buy a new car with a warrantly for a reason. I can see from the records that the prior owner of my 2000 had it back to the dealer no fewer than 6 times just for rattles and squeaks. He fixed them all before I bought the car ;-) Stay with it.
I agree. Take it back -- especially since it is still under warranty. See if Mike Sheldon can hook you up with a Cayenne S loaner to play with in the snow this weekend.
I would recommend Arlington. Can't stand HBL. Do a search on HBL and you will see plenty of negative posts and comments about their service (or lack of it). They really act as if you should be honored that they will agree to sevice your car. And don't even get me started on the sales staff.
I do all of my business in Arlington for P-Car and Euromotors in Bethesda for MB.
Well,
just got the pipes put on by a great shop in fairfax. IMA motorsports is a great place. The techs there knoew what they were doing and super friendly. I know it was just a muffler swap but they did a really good job. (BTW, how can I tell if there's a leak?) I was thinking about buying a lift and doing it myself but IMA only charged me 150 buxs so I said heck with it and had them do it. It took them about 2+ hours but only charged me for 1.5 hours. I got a warm and fuzzy from those guys. I'm gonna take my car back to them to have the suspension work done..
Now back to the nightmare, i'm scared to take my car back to HBL.. I keep thinking if I annoy them enough that they are going to mistreat my baby.
But since they know the problem and know what they did the previous 2 treatments, I feel like they are the best ones right now to diagnose the problem. But any future problems i'll be sure to take it to heisman of arlington.
Do you guys think the cold weather has anything to do with the noise/rattles? I'm hearing blop blop tick tick from the rear seat area now..
On to the good news, the GHL looks, fits, and sounds great. Just a tad louder then stock (which is ok with me) I suspect that it will get a little louder in time. I didn't really get to open it up on the ride home due to rush hour traffic. I'll take it out for a spin tonight (I hate all the salt/sand on the streets)
