Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
People like to think that the modern mini is something special, because it's now made by BMW and they like to assign snob value to it - still doesn't change the fact that it's a cheap economy car underneath the skin.

I'd love to hear a translation of Sabine's running monologue during the Mini-to-Mini contest.

Actually back in the ealy 70's they used to run these mini's against corvettes and camaros on the hill climbs in vancouver CA and would eat them almost everytime when beefed up they are just really light.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

If you once get with your 911 on the Ring and see a blue Mini in your mirrow, let him pass; you really don't need to be ashamed if this 36 year old Mini is faster than you on the track.
Sabine learned it the hard way:

Here you can see more about the guy's Mini projects:
http://www.ringmini.de/
And here he is; some 911 pilots try to stop him in a kind of radical way, others bring their fastest car but if you're not a damn good driver in a very fast car, then you'll probably not get by him.
Actually back in the ealy 70's they used to run these mini's against corvettes and camaros on the hill climbs in vancouver CA and would eat them almost everytime when beefed up they are just really light. One thing I like about the car is that is really easy to park just about anywhere, but just lookng up at the truck in front at a light me made me nervous.
As a kid I remember seeing an accident (well, driving by just after it happened) where a speeding mini had gone under the bed of a truck and sliced the top of the car off... it was pretty nasty. Not the kind of thing that a 7 year old was seeing. One of my friend's fathers was one of the firefighters that had to clean it up and the story was that it was a bit of a mess.
No, this was in the UK in the early '70s. We drove by before the fire dept. put up a curtain to protect the view. I still remember it vividly.
...it's even worse when you consider that the average British truck is smaller than the average American truck.
Speaking of Sabine. Here she is with my friend Ed in Germany wearing shirts I designed for the BMW folks. (caption on the shirt: "Still plays with Cars")
7 times a year in our vintage club Mini's prepared to correct vintage standards get whipped by vintage prepared 911's....and my B Sedan. They are nimble and cute...but not that fast.
You have to remember that comparing Porsches to Minis is like comparing apples to fish. The Mini never was (and still is not) a sports car - it was designed as an economy car - may as well compare to a Geo Metro. The fastest mini made was the Mini 1275 Cooper, but even that would not hold a candle to a real sports car.
They're light and can be souped up - that's their main advantage.
People like to think that the modern mini is something special, because it's now made by BMW and they like to assign snob value to it - still doesn't change the fact that it's a cheap economy car underneath the skin.
I learned to drive in one of those
- MINI experience is awesome, fun, and teaches you a whole lot about driving that transfers well to the 911 experience.
And on the twisties, they always hold their own
Sorry, but that Mini is just a Frankenstein car, with a mid-mounted Honda engine, screw that.
Could it beat this '62 VW Bus with 993 Turbo power?

Not to split hairs but did you watch the movie or visit the website? If you did you would plainly see that the engine maybe be a Honda but it is mounted right upfront where the old engine was. just my 00.02$

I'd love to hear a translation of Sabine's running monologue during the Mini-to-Mini contest. She's great, but I still think she'd be faster if she talked less.
I don't know.. I think she knows that track so well that she could do it blindfolded. I think I saw somewhere that she has something like 300k miles on the 'ring.
