Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did do a couple of searches but I want to make sure I get the correct number. I would like to buy the ignition switch (electrical socket portion) just to keep in the car. I have a 2003 C4 with the original ignition assembly. Which would be the correct PN for this part? Thank you in advance!

POST 2Original post

I have this one in the car and a spare one in my toolset, 4B0-905-849-M5061 I got them both from pelican parts $15.00 and I have a 2003

POST 3Original post

I'm fairly certain that for a 2003 you are looking for p/n 4 A 0 905 849B. They changed over to the newer 4 B 0 905 849 in 2004. Please correct me if I'm mistaken about the year in which they changed. I do know for certain that the 2004 uses the 'B' part.

POST 4Original post

From TSB 4/03 2804 Replacement Ignition Switch -- dated 11-24-2003 All cars can (and should) use the 4B0 number or the complete new steering lock assembly.
