Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Since my top was still in great shape, I suggested that they replace my window and stitch the window as they do on their replacement tops.

My choices were to replace the window or replace the top and we all know what the dealer charges (I heard $4k and above).

I found this place in LA and they could replace the window or the entire top.

I decided to replace the window since my top is still in great shape.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The plastic window on my cab started falling apart as the glue no longer held it in place. My choices were to replace the window or replace the top and we all know what the dealer charges (I heard $4k and above).
I found this place in LA and they could replace the window or the entire top. I decided to replace the window since my top is still in great shape. The new window was glued and stitched to the top and I am very happy with the end result. IMO, this is how it should have come from the factory.

Only one thing scares me about that shop....take a look at the pictures. The guy working up against the car is wearing blue jeans. And jewelry (rings, watches, etc). If this is the guy who truly does the work, I'm certain he leaves behind quite an impression, if you know what I mean.

Same goes to the guy who cooked your food at a restaurant. Do you know what he is wearing or where his hands had been before he cooked your yummy meal?
Without getting personal, these guys were actually great to deal with and they didn't leave any impressions on my car except for good ones. They also took the time to show me their manufacturing process and the canvas tops they imported from Germany. They also showed me the inherent problem with the OEM glued on window. Heat and wear and tear will eventually cause the window to separate from the canvas as many on this board can attest to. Since my top was still in great shape, I suggested that they replace my window and stitch the window as they do on their replacement tops. The end result turned out to be better than I had expected. The stitching was very even around the perimeter of the window and the price was even better, 10% of the dealer replacement cost. At least the window shouldn't separate due to cheesy glue.
For those who have the window separation problem, this shop may be a good alternative without breaking the wallet.
