Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After much time and effort of confirming rear centre console part numbers and returning incorrect parts the interior is finally finished. Apart from the Aluminium look interior change I also had the Porsche Short Shift kit installed. All gears from 1st through to 6th are fine, reverse on the other hand is a nightmare. Need to take the car back tomorrow for some minor adjustments. I can barely engage reverse and my wife has no chance. Not sure what is causing it but I am certain it will be sorted out tomorrow.

POST 2Original post

Looks great! I have a question...are the armrests painted silver leather or are they actually chromed? Would they not heat up and be uncomfortable (at best) if they were in fact chromed? I have to say that I have the chrome and carbon shifter **** and - if left in the sun - you could probably fry an egg on it in the summer... I love the chromed gauge surround. I have not seen that before - just the gauge rings in chrome...

POST 3Original post

ArthurK, would you mind terribly sending me a head on pic of the silver instrument surround including all the instruments? I would really appreciate a post/PM/or email. TIA, Don PS: Your car looks amazing. I have a CF wheel, but now that I see yours I lust for it. I'm just an AS guy!

POST 4Original post

Don - where did you get that ash tray replacement part? Does it come in AS or do you have to have it painted?

POST 5Original post

Bucket, Its called the 'Non Smoker Kit' avail at your local porsche dealer or online, Sunset/Suncoast/Brandywine, whoever...Not sure if you can get it painted, but if not, that's what bumperplugs.com is for....

POST 6Original post

Arthur, looks great! Hey your steering wheel is on the wrong side!!! haha

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Don, Your wish is my command...........

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bucket, You will find the interior pieces, unlike the gear shift and hand break, are actually painted and do not heat up as much as the metal pieces. Similarly the door compartment covers are actually painted. I have not had them any hotter than the old black leather pieces and they are certainly easier to clean

POST 9Original post

Thank you. Off topic, what is that small oval mesh insert to the right (for me the left) of the gauage cluster - next to the oil temp - for?

POST 10Original post

I purchased the non smoker's kit (ashtray replacement) from my local Porsche dealer and had it painted (Lapis blue to match center console) by Eric at Bumperplugs.com. Spot on match.

POST 12Original post

Thanks Arthur. I have the AS rings and I was trying to figure out if putting the AS surround on it would look to overdone.... you think? I've got the AS upper center dash horsheshoe switch plate thing and the horizontal AS strips to install, then I'm done.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Don, I have the rings as well and I too am not sure if Iam going to put them on or not. What I will do is put them on temporarily and see how the look. If it is too much I will take them off. I will take a photo and post it for you. Probably wont do it till the weekend though. Bucket, I believe that is for the mic for a car kit installation
