Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Also, NO WAY it will be in the Turbo league, which won't be replaced for another year or two.

Suggestion
Yeah the 997s is brand spankin' new, but may have quirks and glitches that all first run models have.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

about a week ago i had asked the fine ladies and gentlement of this forum for advice re: the purchase of a new C4S or a 997S. Your feedback was greatly appreciated. Thank you. Nevertheless, i remain carless. Now, the dillema gets worse: A 2002 turbo w/8400 miles for 999.00/mo on a 39 mos lease w/11k down. The C4S is an '04 at 1060.00/mo for 48 mos lease w/5k down. All responses would be greatley appreciated. Thanks
Turbo, hands down.
1) Turbo engine will not have RMS leak
2) Turbo has oodles of power
3) Turbo lease is shorter so you can entertain the idea of 997S sooner
See how much you'd need to put down on the TT if payments were the same as the C4S, cause 11k down is alot outta pocket.
See if they'll certify the car for you before purchase, usually an add'l $2k, but you get 2 more years and 50k more miles of warr., so you're covered for the term of the lease.
Are there option differences? Heated seats, xenon, sport seats, full leather, alum or carbon pkgs, etc, etc.
Either way you can't go wrong, but TT would be my choice...
just missed your post. I would check ebay, there are lots of 996's available for sale. Other good sources are the PCA and autotrader.com. If anything else it confirms your decision to lease if that's your choice.
I'd ask for a recalculation on the turbo requesting a 48 month interval (9 more payments) and a minimization of the down payment. That should make the costs comparable and leaves open the negotiation for extended warranty. I think you'll enjoy the tt more. If the tt is on Pirellis, you'll probably need new rubber soon. The Contis have worn much better on my 02X50 (24,000 miles on the car, 18,000 on the Contis which still look good- but no track use on the Contis). AS
So now that its pretty much apples to apples...$100/mo is worth it for a TT...again, get a factory cert, and you should still be covered for the life of the lease...
extended warranty will run 1200.00 i.e. roughly 30.00/mo. Total difference 130.00/mo. Should i pull the trigger? Btw, read an interesting article in automobile mag today about 997S; they love it. My leasing guy says payments on a 85k 997S should be similar to the TT w/ same money down. Still the TT? thank you
Are they talking extended warranty thru a 3rd party, or Porsche Extended....there is a BIG difference. If its Porsche warr for that price, its a great deal.
I would still pull the trigger. Yeah the 997s is brand spankin' new, but may have quirks and glitches that all first run models have. Also, NO WAY it will be in the Turbo league, which won't be replaced for another year or two.
I'd still do TT...
Third party warranty. Yet, it "mirrors" factory warranty and i have put my legal skills to work and extensively "cross-examined" them on this issue and seem satisfied regarding its comprehensibility.
Not comparing the cars. I would only go for a 02 if I could get the porsche extended warrantee. the car has to be thououghly checked and tested before they will approve it. The outside warrantee ; probibly little or no inspection would be done by a porsche expert mechanic.
