Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My dealer is trying to move the x 51 at a 13K price. For those of you that have put this in, are you glad you did? I have a 2002 C2, pss9,PSE, GT3 aero kit. I track and autocross once per month. It would be fun o have more HP but that is a lot of money. Bigger brakes might be better money spent. Thanks for your feedback.

POST 2Original post

Sunset Porsche has the power kit on sale. Does not include installation. I think for the extra HP, the price to performance is not worth it. IMHO Carrera Power Kit - 996 from MY 2002 (some additional parts may be needed) 000.044.100.15 List $8520.32 Special $6250.00

POST 3Original post

Robert, You can get a supercharger for 11k, installed, and keep up with Turbos. 13k is an awful lot of money for an extra 20 hp, and no torque...Ask around about the bigger brakes before you take the plunge, I've heard mixed reviews...

POST 4Original post

While the X51 upgrades are nice, the $13K price of admission is way too steep IMO. Maintaining factory warranty is nice, but the kit is simply too expensive (plus labor). 320 hp is plenty fast around the track. I see that you're running PSS-9s. Why don't you spring for some GT-3 seats, a roll bar, and harnesses? You could even throw in some Pagid oranges and still come in around $5K. That would cure your braking concerns and keep you strapped in during your track events...

POST 5Original post

Included in that X51 kit is a new two stage oil scavenging pump for the right side. Given that your tracking the car, IMHO, you may want to consider at least that part of the kit.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

RJ; Have the seat, bar and Schroth harness. I am leaning away from the kit. I would think that as the 997 gets here Porsche may reduce the price of these parts even more.
