It came with the car and this is the first time around changing the battery.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I installed the Interstate MTP-H6 today. It has vent holes on both sides of the top. My car only has on tube for the vent holes. Is there a splitter T of is one side the proper way and the exit of the tube to the outside supplies a lower pressure in the wind causing an evacuation of the air space from one sides hole to the other? In short is one tube right?
You can purchase those splitters at about any parts store for a couple of bucks. Vacuum line connectors/splitters. That's what I'd do.

I believe you can cap the 2nd vent on these batteries; the two vents lets you choose which side to vent from, as it differs from car to car. Didn't yours come with one already capped?
I'll double check. I didn't look too far into the hole when it was still in the plastic wrap. I ran the last battery a Interstate 91 without the vent connected. It came with the car and this is the first time around changing the battery.
Thanks for the help. I'll ask the dealer here who is good at giving info if the battery uses two and if they sell the tubing hook ups or plugs which ever way it goes.
FYI, If you would have purchased the H7 battery you would be all set. The H7 is IDENTICAL in size/shape to the stock Porsche battery for the 996 right down to the fold-down handles and the vent location.
.
That sucks because the stores computer popped up the only one with a vent was the H6. I'll check interstate online again, last time on their site the H9 was what they chow to get for 99's. Wo is me
PAC 996- aloha- i've 02 996 and got interstate H-7 battery at their location in
Waipahu few yrs ago- it is exactly same as stock battery- check this out.
Aloha bgrpph. I'll remember the H-7 for years later. I'm not certain which battery is lighter. In the future I might just go with the lightest. It turns out the handle really wasn't needed when I just kept a good hold of it for installing.
