This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Rear tires, fronts are still like new, had to put on new rears already. Gee a think driving habits may be my oil loss issues? I used 3/4 qt in 3500 miles in case anyone remembers that post.

POST 2Original post

You're lucky you don't have a Veron... Aren't tires for that $24k or something?

POST 3Original post

yup... thats about right. Your front will last a looooong time.

yea and after ONE pass at top speed they need replacing

POST 5Original post

I just put new rears on Friday. Then I guess my throw out bearing did feel any love. So, what does that mean? Yes, a new clutch kit installed. Joy!!! I will say my clutch is a 1000 times lighter now. It is like driving a whole different car. Finger was bent on the pressure plate and bearing was toast.

POST 7Original post

A little over 62k. Clutch disc was in very good shape. Still had a lot of material left. I did not have any slipping. Was hard to down shift a few times. I just got a nasty noise on Saturday when I press down on the clutch. Noise went away when engaged. Lot of searching Saturday night and I felt good that is was indeed the throw-out bearing and not something worse. What really sucked is that I am sure this problem was there for a long time because my clutch feel in way different now. Plus my CPO expired on 8/11/10. Dealer was no help there. Just bent me over.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7862498

Yeah i was going to buy one of those when I bought the 96. But after I learned that tires were 24K I said NO WAY. Other than that.. One would be in my garage ya know.... And I would have never met you fine folks. So a will all the way around.

POST 12Original post

I got about 10K on my last set of rears. Fronts are still going good. Rick 99 996C4 87 944S

yeah I got the same thing the GYE f1's I hope these last a little longer if I keep my foot out of it. But ya know how that goes. LOL

POST 15Original post

wow...for $650/4 of the Sumi's its tough to justify on the street... NO WEAR on the fronts? you should start doing a slalom on the freeway, I can do every other set at 60 - get them front worn a bit

POST 16Original post

Just the rears? Hmmm, alll my tires seem to wear out at the same time... Those pZeros are just so soft! I guess that's what 6000 miles and 8 track days will do.
