I loved my 635CSi. Still do, in fact I was thinking about it tonight since it's about time to get it fixed up - it's been "parked" against its will outside for quite some time now (I guess my mechanic didn't fix that electrical glitch as well as he thought he did). It really is a gorgeous car, and while it's heavier and less powerful (hey, it's over 20 years old!), I love it for the same reasons I love my 911. It's got the best road feedback a guy could ask for; wonderful steering - recirculating ball! - with a wheel the size of an 18-wheeler; a communicative but not-too-harsh suspension; it even has better seats than my 911. It came with a factory cell phone and ABS... And it's truly a work of art. For some reason, I really miss having to lunge the shifter from second to third - I think they were in separate time zones.. *Sigh* Okay, I'm through now

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

If you want a mechanic who will fix the electrical glitch as well as he thinks, try BMW Excluservice http://www.bmwexcluservice.com/ Lothar Schuettler is the man in charge. I'm surprised the website only says since 1984 since my dad has had Lothar work done by Lothar (who I don't think actually does any mechanical work anymore) since buying his BMW 2002 in 1970 (maybe 71 I forget). Outside of the fact that they have good mechanics, another nice thing is you can be inside the service bay and watch the mechanic work, they don't mind. BTW, I long for an M635csi...one day. Heh, I just noticed, it even has the signature BMW brake dust black front wheels...some things never change.
Nice car, definitely a keeper. If you don't drive it often, you can always cover it to protect it from the elements.
love the 6 series always have....also liked the 8 series very much...can I say BMW's golden years?? the 80's
