Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have an '02 996 coupe and want a new exhaust system as the stock one sounds weak. I have read many prior posts and have narrowed the selection down to three. From the remaining 3 I can't make up my mind. I need your help. Which would you choose and why? 1. PSE 2. Cargraphic- export 3. Fabspeed TIA Mike

POST 2Original post

I just went with PSE on my cab and absolutely love it. I've heard from a few people that it's pretty loud from outside the car, but if that ever really bothers me I'll just install the switch to turn it off when needed. Others swear by the Fabspeed. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Of course, Fabspeed is cheaper- is it still on special?

POST 3Original post

Fabspeed: Well, in IMHO, it just sounds the best iand is what I expect when I hear a Porsche. Also, its lound, but not too loud. I am not trying to flame anyone, but I just don't get the PSE. Why spend the extra money for an exhaust the weights more than a FAB, GHL,etc and is going to cost a lot more. Just a biased opinon.

POST 4Original post

I also vouch for Fabspeeds and/ or GHL, either is a good choice. But if you can't tolerate any increase in cabin sound or overall sound then I should stick with the safe choice, PSE.

POST 5Original post

-PSE if you want some noise but no resonance (i believe this is the case with PSE but i havn't been in a closed cabin firsthand) -GHL normal mufflers for sportier sound but no noise level change -GHL louds for an increase in volume, same deep sound that characterizes GHL. -Fabspeed mufflers save you 25lbs (which is not unsubstantial) and sound more pitched, some resonance tho -Supersprint: great build, hard on wallet, but if u want a quality complete system, this is it. - Fabspeed bypass pipes: you're basically paying for exhaust tips, save 50lbs, very loud, tons of cabin resonance with windows up (cd trays rattle, motorized face units vibrate, rear speakers all but useless, not wife friendly...unless u have the coolest wife in the world --> i'm using this one...and continue 2 be single as a result no doubt) There are some other options to explore as well: Jubilee, B&B and for those with just way too much $$$ on hand: kreissieg

POST 6Original post

I have the PSE and love it. I wanted a better sounding exhaust and found it with the PSE. It should have been standred in MHO.....

POST 7Original post

I went with the safe choice - PSE mufflers only. I use my car as a daily driver, and couldn't live with resonance. They sound absolutely great, not too loud. If I ever get annoyed, then I'll install the electronics and can turn it off. Not possible with the other choices. But yes. Its 400 euros more over the fabspeed.

POST 8Original post

I tried fabspeed and the resonance was ridiculous PSE (no switch) was what i swapped them out for and its awesome!

POST 9Original post

Here's a riddle for you, who does the Porsche family go to for their own "tuning" needs? Hint, it's not Eisenmann.

POST 10Original post

RUF. I have PSE and Im very satisfy but if I were you, I would go with one that saves the extra weight plus gives you a little bump on the hp.

POST 11Original post

Ruf it is., which kind of speaks volumes. It is said that Ruf does for Porsche what Porsche wishes it could do.

POST 12Original post

Sad but true. In a perfect world, we'll all have RUF'ed out porsches.

POST 13Original post

Fabspeed here and love it! Funny, I've never had any resonance with my setup either. In the end tho', I think anything would be better than stock.

POST 14Original post

I have Fabspeed and I'm not sure why some people talk about the resonance... I don't have none. Maybe installation issues? As said in earlier threads, Fabspeed usually has great customer service and the guys over there are more than willing to help out.... Here's a clip of my exhaust... note: the windows are up Click Here

POST 15Original post

Nice clip Evo. Everything was a blurr once fourth was engaged, watch out for dem squirrels!

POST 16Original post

LOL, Connecticut back roads yeah I tried opening the window, so you could hear it with the windows down, but the wind definitely took over and it was just a blur from there on

POST 17Original post

Fiddling thumbs and waiting for the someone to preach..... nice video Fabspeed is the way to go.
