Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My 2003 996 came installed with Fabspeed mufflers from the previous owner and the car does sound very good but not as loud as other 996's with the fabspeeds that I've driven.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Upon delivery, he said that the car only has the fabspeed mufflers and stock tips so the sound isnt too loud. At the time I thought it was a ridiculous statement because how can tips make a difference in sound afterall but now I'm not so sure.
If the fabspeed sport exhaust is mated to the fabspeed oval tips does it indeed sound louder than if mated to the factory tips? Does anyone have any hands on proof that it makes a difference?
I've had both stock and Fab tips on the Fab muffies... and as expected, no real difference in sound.
If you wish to add some motor sound, do the intake kit. Above 4500 rpm, it really adds some nice music!
BTW, the Fab tips look so much better than the stockers IMO.
Cheers
If you want the exhaust to drop and octave and go up a couple of decibels, work on removing, or atleast opening up the airfilter housing, at the very least get a K&N type filter. New to Porsche but I've owned alot from 110HP to 640RWHP. Good luck with it and like mentioned check into a few things to keep it nice and not cheaped out. = )
Oh yea tips = zero sound difference on these mufflers. They are not tuneable, just accessorizable.
I would say it depends on the size and design of the tips. Just like a trumpet, there should be some difference in tone. Although the difference between stock and Fabspeed tips is small compared to a longer straight tip like the Ruf.
