Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

When I took factory delivery of my 2001 C4 I was told that in my travels in europe I would not always be able to obtain premium fuels and that would be no problem, just avoid leaded fuel or they would need to replace the "cat", $1000 my cost, before subsequent shipping to the US.

Just go blow it all out, up and back to Blowing Rock, add premium at the top of the hill and run back.

Either way, you'll be fine--93 octane is impossible to find around here, so I sometimes have to use 91 and it works fine.

But my belief is that since the adoption/use of EFI the way that has been used to prevent knocking in high compression engines "requiring" premium is to enrich the mixture using EFI when low grade fuels are used.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Time for a mountain run buddy. Just go blow it all out, up and back to Blowing Rock, add premium at the top of the hill and run back.
I'd join you, but I'm taking my first-born to college today. Yikes!
Couldn't you just dump a can of octane booster into the tank if you're really worried about it?

I'm in the no problem camp. You can't buy 93 octane in AZ so I've been driving with sub-optimal 91 for the life of the car. Have fun burning up that tank. Report back to the forum what performance differences you notice.

From that there manual-thingy that comes with these cars:
Since you likely had some premium fuel left in your tank when you went to fill up, the resultant mix is probably pretty close to 90 octane anyway - I think you'll be fine. If your really concerned burn half the tank then fill it up with premium again.

Don't worry about it - you won't hurt your engine. If it still bothers you, then go get some octane booster. Otherwise, you probably won't even notice it.
