Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's been several years (7) since I ownded a porsche. I went from 95 tip to a 96 6-speed..Finally I traded the Porsche and haven't been owned one since. Recently I sold one of my toy car, so now I am back looking at a 996 Cabroliet. Here are some of the things I found while searching (on and off for several months): 1. A lot of Porsche had their engine replaced (primarily 99-00) this is what I dont' understand why only this particular years. 2. A lot of leased Porsche (Been searching on Ebay and Autotrader) 3. 99' have RMS problems 4. Cabroliet changed to rear glasses in '03 Anyways, any additional advices would be appreciated and if anyone knows of one for sale at reasonble value, please show me (willing to travel).

POST 2Original post

1. Not a "lot" of cars have had their engines replaced, just a few. But the power of the Internet exaggerates. 2. Most expensive new cars are leased these days. 3. All 996's are likely to have RMS problems. It's not a huge deal. The latest seal supposedly fixes the problem. 4. Cab changed to glass in '02. HTH, Michael

Thanks-I think it was avail 99-02(?), by order. Someone in my PCA region has a 993 in Amethyst, which is pretty vibrant, but I like the subtlety of the viola. I've really come to enjoy it, even if my favorites are Arctic Silver and Cobalt.
