Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

37 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This is crazy. I have always loved Porsche's, who has not. But I never really thought about buying one nor looked into it. Well last week the Infinity dealer down the street got in a 1999 Artic C2 with RUF body kit. Car has 26k miles. I passed by and was so impressed by its looks I had to inquire. I bought it after the local Porsche dealer checked it out. I can not tell you how much I like this car! However I do plan on doing some modifications to up the HP. My other car is a highly modified 3rd gen rx7 hence my desire for more power. Now I do not want to modify this car too much as I love everything about it except the power. I have read many threads on here reguarding exhaust's, chips and intakes. Is there any prefered over others? Do they really make much differance? What is your take on the EVO super charger? I will post pics of it tonight. Thanks, Mike

POST 2Original post

Congrats!!!! Can't wait to see hat RUF body kit!

POST 3Original post

congrats..... NOW PICTURE or we don't believe you.....

POST 4Original post

Welcome to the PWorld, sk8world If you do a search, you will find much discussion on the Evo SC. If you have some spare ca$h, I say go for the SC! That will put you in Turbo territory! And you'd be selling the RX7 next........... Tim! Get on here before the pics get posted! I know you've been itching.....

POST 5Original post

i am going to have to take over........ PICS DAMMIT!!!!!!!!

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

you guys are very caught up in wanting pics! Is it a problem on here with people acting like they have one? Well I just picked it up from Porsche (got its 30k a little early) I will take a cell phone pic for now and post some good ones once I get a chance to clean it up. Oh, I noticed they left me the old filter and it is a K&N. Should I clean it and reinstall?

POST 8Original post

Still have the FD, eh? Yes we know each other from the Rx7 Forum (my username there is SleepR1--I haven't logged on to the Rx7 Forum, in what--3 years?). I wouldn't mod the 996 yet. It's a great car as it is. It's funny, but I'm shopping for a nice '99 myself! Anyhow--welcome! I've been lurking here for almost a year, and this community is a more mature group than in the Rx7 Forum (or the BimmerForums community for that matter!). Don't be too upset with the guys hazing you about not posting pics--they just like to see the new members with their new prides and joys.--post pics soon!

POST 10Original post

Welcome, and congrats and good luck with the new car - but pics are in order, we are very visually oriented here...

POST 11Original post

The haziness is rather artistic. Beautiful car!

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey sleepRM3, I remember you. Small world.. Well I still have the FD. Getting a fresh streetport in next week and a new Garrett 40/42r turbo. Should be a 550+ dyno on race gas and mid 400 on pump. But this is the last motor for it. I may sell it just to have spending money on the 996! But I will always love the FD. Just a work of art by Mazda.

POST 13Original post

Wow! Big rwhp from the FD. Finally went single turbo eh? Rx7 Forum member, alberto_mg still has my old car. I think he's still enjoying it, but he's turned it back to a street car (from DE warrior). Your new baby is the *****. Enjoy it!

POST 14Original post

Nice! Now with a real camera. Before the really tough guys get in this thread. I can't stand the carnage. CP

POST 15Original post

That is a most excellent car. You are going to love it.

POST 16Original post

Congratulations and welcome to Rennlist. You have good taste in body kits.

POST 17Original post

Damn that looks great!! Need some better pics please!

POST 18Original post

Damn, worked late tonight so I couldn't get my Newbie" harassing in prior to him posting the pics. I thought I taught you guys better than this! See, you rushed the guy and you got sh!tty pics! Damn amateurs! Mike - Welcome to Rennlist and Congrats on getting a nice looking P-car! Most of us are pic ****** and the rest of us are pic *****, so that is why you were getting bombarded with pic requests. It is kind of an initiation for all Newbies, we bust their chops a little until they post pics. It is all in good fun. I ususally like to take the following kinder and gentler approach when politely requesting pics: Hey, "Newbie" come on, post some pics. Where the hell do you think you are.... on a Bimmer Board? Come on, POST THE &^%*$@# PICS!!!! Ususally, my "kinder and gentler" approach works quite well. Once again, Mike, Welcome and post some good pics once you get the chance to clean up your new beauty.

Damn amateurs! dammit tim.... i think it's my fault..... all that testosterone..... next time, i'll make way for you first..... but you need to jump on it QUICK.......

POST 20Original post

And welcome to the '99s club... Maybe try a q-tip and some alcohol on that camera phone lens!

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys! I will take some beter pics this weekend. Car is a blast to drive!! What do you guys think about the filter question? I had the 30k tune-up done and they left me the old filter (K&N). The car has one of the red "cold induction" hoses and I guess it came with a K&N filter as a kit. Should I leave the new stock one in or clean and put the KN back in? Last, I will be at Deals Gap in NC on April 20-21st with the rx7 club, I see there is a local Porsche club going to be there, anyone on here?

POST 22Original post

GREAT LOOKING CAR! A worthy replacement for an FD. What was your username on RX7club?

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you...same name, sk8world. I am still on there everyday. So not a replacement yet

POST 26Original post

She looks great! Pics will do...for now. Enjoy her. Body kit is great.

POST 27Original post

[QUOTE=Porsche_Smile] I thought you might get a little chuckle out of my "scolding!"

POST 28Original post

I guess pic ****** and pic ***** are better than crack ******! Nice looking '99! Good luck!

POST 29Original post

nice looking 996! hold on to the mod., you need to get to know your car first. if you want to get real power gain, SC is the only way to do. headers&exhause won't do much.

POST 31Original post

Nice car! Se how it is here, they beat you up if you don't post pics... that's why I'm not telling anyone that today I got a crazy rear deck lid+wing at Fontana because if I do so they'll want to see the damn wing! Congrats and be safe. V2

Forgot... of course I kept my original rear deck lid since I LOVE the original too and my switch on and off depend on the event... I was lucky that the rear wing I got was already painted and was from a show car (used)... only paid $750 out-the-door from 3TMOTORSPORT.COM and they have more available... they also installed and were the nicest people. Just in case you want to know, I did not shopped on the web, I was at the PCA Speed festival at Fontana speedway and they were there showcasing products... so I got to track the car (TOUR reaching speeds of 120mph) for 2 laps... was amazing. They also had OEM winglets for 100$ for a pair! (didn't buy those because I need a lower meaner rear bumper)
