Suggestion
Planning on keeping the CS for many more years to beat around in and the steel springs are the ride height is fine for the back roads there's no chance for a expensive repair bill that having the air suspension option will eventually require.

You know, you change Porsches so often that I've lost track of what you have.

It will replace my Saab as my "beater" Dog and kid hauler.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well.... I am ready for the abuse...
04 Cayenne S, 50K miles, Pretty well loaded... 19 Summer wheels 18" winter.
Full Leather, Nav, Air Suspension, PASM..etc All books, Records, garaged.
It was the CEO of my companies car, I was selling it for him....was offered it a a price I could not refuse. He has a Cayenne Turbo as well as some other nice stuff.
It will replace my Saab as my "beater" Dog and kid hauler.
I have always picked on them, never liked that Porsche built a truck... I don't even really like the way they look but I have to admit it drives really well and that V8 sounds so nice.
My name is Marc and I'm a ....hypocrite.
Pic's for Tim
..it's still on winter wheels.
So get over and learn what everyone is trying to scare ya about.
Actually, it looks great, I will tell you Zaino is the stuff for black. Hard to tell but it looks a little dirty
I am sure you will have a great run with it.....
Hey and who knows, maybe the truck guys will start waving when they see another p-CAR
Wtg Marc!
That is a very nice truck Marc. I would be all over that if it was a 7 passenger with a diesel power plant. There are pepper owners with over 100K+ miles who cannot find a replacement except a new pepper. I think you will really like it.
I've been contemplating doing the same myself. It's either do this, or upgrade to a 997tt for me. Just waiting around to see what the economy does. She looks great! I'm thinking two is always better than one.
Hey, only 24" with spinners will do... gotta dress that thing up like an Escalade so that it will be less Deutschland and more Jersey.
Seriously though - nice car. I have toyed with the idea of getting one.
I've always liked them. Porsche gave me one for a loaner one weekend and we took it up into the mountains and had a blast in it.
Just for fun throw an envelope on the CEO's desk with pens and receipts you found in the car. Throw a small baggy of oregano in it to for laughs.
Like others here i've been thinking about getting one as well but have been waiting for the new one to come out, although I have a feeling (judging from pics) that it's going to be a real Euro SUV... too small!
I think you'll be very happy with yours Mark, congrats!
Cheers,
Sid.
I traded mine in for the Escalade 3 years ago. Thinking about going back.....seriously. It really is a great vehicle.
My Escalade can tow a house but now that the race car is sold, there really is no need for a monster tow vehicle/bling machine
Congrats Marc. In my world...if it has a Porsche badge on it then I'm okay with it and I won't split hairs as many seem to do regarding it's pedigree, and how it stacks up to 'their' concieved notion as to why it isn't a real Porsche, and the one they drive is. Good for you.
Thanks Barnster, I thnk it will end up liking it, really fits the bill for a family car, Winter car, Great for the dog, kid and home Depot. It's fun to drive for a truck and.. it is more or less... a Porsche
The only downside is the sluchbox, I just dont like autos.
why is it that none of the euros make a suv that just jumps out at you, you know like when you see it, you just have to have it, bmw, mercedes, porsche, volvo, none of them look worth a crap, but the driving, handling, etc.., is great, it's just the look, none of them are real eyecatchers!
i'm pretty new here, but i wish there were more people in the porsche family that thought the way you do, i've never seen so many people with the same logo on their cars, bicker so much about whether it's a REAL porsche or not, when i bought my car i had no idea i wasn't buying a REAL porsche, i have a h2, but i don't hear the h1 guys saying its not a real hummer! i guess next time i buy i'll have to be more careful! why can't people just welcome you into the family, it doesn't matter what backgound you came from!
Yeah, next Sunday... although, it might be several weeks before I make it to a saturday morning meeting.... unlike Tim I can't bear to show up for a meeting in my Honda.
The plan is to arrive next Sunday evening, then I'll be back here for the holiday weekend... after that I'll probably be back here every 2nd or 3rd weekend until my family moves down.... but I promise we'll get to meet soon.
All the more reason for you to swing over to see what is behind the curtain
There are 3 right now, but one should be going to a new home this weekend. The other two will NEVER leave. All the ones I keep changing are ones that are geared for the track.
have you seen what VW did to the bus? (van)
what a fricken joke.... they "HAD" something special and and Wolfsburg Edition Vanagon is HOT looking. They are a hoot to drive.
I dont even know what the h&ll that new one looks like?? A Toyota
found this - if you have never drive a Vanagon, you owe yourself a ride.. they are really "differant" - My bro and I had a 74' Camper... top speed of about 60... 40 uphill. But what a blast to drive!
some might think they look a bit like abox, but I lokve the look of this
Yeah, I hope to find a CPO'd Cayenne GTS with the manual trans in the near future to avoid getting a slush box.
I've heard it's not the best manual but it's gotta be better than the auto.
Good luck with the new ride. If you have to have a people/kid/dog hauler, it's the one to have.
I hear you, Though Im not totally crazy about the looks.... I think BMW is the least fugly.... plus its not humongously huge with a 3rd seat. If the pepper had a 3rd seat I would of ended up with one. Opted for the X5 diesel instead.... great engine!
The wife saw a Cayenne Turbo about a month ago and fell in love with it's looks. So maybe some time in the near future I could have one of those in my garage.
Oh and get this, it HAS to be a turbo!!!
Very well optioned CS.
I love ours, great car for the winter and long trips up North and on the back roads of the sticks. Coming from a Range Rover I preferred not having air suspension. Planning on keeping the CS for many more years to beat around in and the steel springs are the ride height is fine for the back roads there's no chance for a expensive repair bill that having the air suspension option will eventually require. 160k km on it and it's had and fixed every known Cayenne problem, so it should be ok now for many more years.
Have local dealer looking into V8 Toureg.....for me...and looking for a few cayennes...THX MARK!!!!!!!
I can afford a toureg CPOed but cant afford a cayenne CPOed...soo we will see.
Glad to see the Pepper getting four pages of comments on this thread! We've owned our Turbo since late 2006 (bought with 3k miles on it) and it's close to the longest I've owned ANY car! The entire family loves it!
Good luck!
A few notes having lived with it for a week.
It is actually fun to drive....
Very comfortable
No complaints on the power
The circa 2004 PCM blows.... using an FM modulator for my XM stinks and no iPOD, like 03+ 996's it's MOST so no inexpensive solutions there.
Fty, Love the Toureg, coworker has a V8 with 150K miles and it still feels great!
I have the dealer at the place I picked up the saab who just got a blue one in..I told him I want it CPOed. Just want a truck the saab is great but we just finally got a thumbs up by DR....its not gonna be me and my wife any more...so I need some more room. Sparco babyseat and stroller soon...looking forward to it.
Congrats on the GREAT NEWS!!!!!!
I have a 3 year old.... she rides in the 996 all the time but she is liking what she calls the "new big Porsche"
(she says Porsche as a two syllable word!)
