Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All,
I thought I would share the changes I made to my 1999 996!!!
Changed wheel color, put on the side decals, got rid of the orange side markers and put medium window tint in.
Happy Holidays to all.

Thanks for the pics. I'm in the before camp. Maybe you should have posted a poll so it would be easier for folks to vote on the looks.
Though it is your car and so only your opinion counts.
Looking good! I'm not 100% sold on the decal, but I don't see how anyone can argue that getting rid of the ambers and the tint looks bad. As for the wheels, silver wheels on a silver 996 is incredibly blah, I personally think that ANY contrast is good.
I pulled a set of stickers just like that off mine when I bought it... But that's because it didn't need any "dress up" in my opinion.
I dig the wheels and the tint. Neither are over the top in my opinion, just a nice continuation of the theme.
The important part is that you are enjoying it.
Yeah, cars.....to each his own. I thought the car looked to "silver" before. Also, I really like the way the decal provides some lines. Also, just to really enrage half the folks on here - those wheels are plasti-dipped. I did it just to see if I would like the dark colored wheels. But, I am going to keep them the way they are. I love the way they look and the price is right. The good thing is, if I ever want to go back to the way they were, all I have to do is peel it off - brilliant. So far, everyone that has seen the car close up asked me where I got them powder-coated. My answer is, in my driveway - $60 bucks total. Love it.
Love the dark wheels. Gives the car a more aggressive look. I like the contrast the decals and wheels have on the silver. Red calipers would finish it off!
If you keep the decals, I personally think that going gloss black with the wheels would tie in even better. Right now you have silver body, gray wheels, black decal. That way your contrasting color would be the same. Many of the Cayman R and Boxster Spyders used that same color convention.
Yeah, my Cayman is similar. The previous owner put on the stickers. At first, I planned to remove 'em, but now I like 'em. Easy enough to take off if I ever change my mind.
.
I like the stickers as a change of pace. Normally I like black wheels the best when they have a silver rim around the outside to frame them. Car looks good though.
