Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is there any torque value for attaching the LN spin on filter attachment? Also, it came with no seal or washer. Just screw it on? Any other tips? I think someone said the NAPA Wix filter was recommended. Is there a specific part number/series filter to buy? Thanks. First DIY oil change on for tomorrow. Tim

POST 2Original post

Hey Put mine on last week. The LN website has the torque value for the adapter. I want to say about 18ft/lbs? The NAPA Gold filter is the recommended one. #51042 TQ is 18 ft/lbs on the adapter. Be sure the base snugs all the way up to the engine block Before torqueing. I found that the large size of the drain plug overwhelmed my oil drain pans' Ability to accept. Have a pail or tub handy. 10 qts is a lot of oil

POST 3Original post

Its been a while, but I want to say I remember a rubber O-ring being on there. Might want to confirm before installing

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There is an o-ring on the threads for the filter but nothing on the threaded part that attaches to the motor. Thanks! TC

POST 5Original post

Correct. There is a ring on the inside of the threaded nipple.

POST 6Original post

Just checked LNs site. Unless somethings changed, there should definitely be an O-ring on the side that threads into the engine. (see pics)

POST 7Original post

Yep. That large o-ring as shown in the male threads of the adapter Also a smaller o-ring inside the female oil port on the same end of that adapter.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Large O-ring is there. The small threaded tube has no O-ring. Need to call Pellican tomorrow. TC

POST 9Original post

You sure? It's about 1/2 inside the oil flange that is surrounded by those 8 or 10 holes on that end of the adapter...not the spin-on filter end. In the photo on the right, 1/2 way down into the flange

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

TS--Oh! I got it. I was looking at the smaller part. Got it. Gtg now. Thanks all. Standby for a report on how I underestimated how much 10 qts. is. TC
