Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

26 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

New purchase for the silver bullit: race battery with carbon fiber shell. High levels of gangsterness and weight reduction for the win They weight 6lbs and have enough power to start my car...which is all I can ask of a battery. They also have some more powerful ones for those with subs and stuff.

POST 2Original post

Omar, that is way too cool. Where did you find it? Jim

POST 4Original post

POST 5Original post

Ahhh the CF Braille...the F1 of road car batteries. Well if you are going to have one for several years might as well drop a couple of Franklins. Forty pound weight reduction. I'm looking at the 12 pound Braille. Crazy thing is people spend a couple hundred on a Porsche battery that's just a rebadged boat anchor. p.s. have you ever seen a Champion F1 spark plug? looks like 50mm gun shell.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

no i have not....got a link? Jim, you've got a PM

POST 7Original post

that's it below The F1 teams were complaing to Champion that for its size the traditional spark plugs were the heaviest part of the F1 motor. So they came up with that teeny thing on the far right.

POST 8Original post

Nothing like seeing carbon fiber and lead in the same product While not F-1, the plugs that were specified for our Champ car engines are these tiny little bullet looking things that were pure platinum and cost (not price) was $90.00 ea.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

chris....what was the life of those plugs? (not how often you changed em but how long they could last effectivly)

POST 10Original post

DeAd-EyE, how's the new battery holding up for you. Is it being used on a daily driver basis?

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

car hasn't come out yet. its in my friend's crx tuner car which is being daily driven..and he hasn't complained yet. gonna take it back from him tomorrow and sell it i think...i'm selling my car so i dont need it anymore anyone want it? its pretty much brand new.

POST 12Original post

that looks pretty sweet...... now what's the long term durability of it?

POST 13Original post

As an AGM battery, it should be comparable to any other AGM battery, like the Optima/Odyssey.

POST 14Original post

Just go to Batteries Plus and buy the same thing without the CF...wheel chair battery...run one in my race car. Lasts forever too

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

they will all fit (they're all bloody small). you will need to tie them down either with the braille tiedown kit..or make your own

POST 19Original post

OK I guess I will take the beating! Why the heck would anyone care if the case on the battery is plastic or carbon fiber? What do you save like 12 ounces and waste all that money in a spot that is already covered in plastic? I would think for the money why not replace the plastic covering in your trunk with some carbon fiber, save the same weight and have it visible ever time you open it. Better yet forget all that and save the weight where it is needed most in our ***. OK Shot and splash over, ready to be flamed.

POST 20Original post

...... or you could get the carbon fiber key fob and save .051287 grams of weight!

POST 21Original post

You just don't get it. The carbon fiber is so you can SAY that you have CF battery...it really impresses the girls. This posted on "another site" if I dare:

POST 22Original post

I was looking for that. Thanks... The weight savings is the interesting part. If these can be had for $50-$70...heck yeah. The CF is just bling..it doesn't impress the girls cause the battery is covered up. It impresses the tech who works on the car.

POST 23Original post

Don't tell this to the guy's at the 997 GT3 forum arguing over 0.20 oz. Battery is usually free in PCA racing, and is held fairly high up from the ground as well (PCA doesn't allow for it to be moved), so it's certainly a good item to save weight on. However, plastic cover vs Carbon fiber saving 12 oz (0.8 pounds) is debatable. But, it looks yummy though.

POST 24Original post

One of my favorite quotes of all time.... "there is no point, that's the point."

POST 25Original post

And its the same price, within reason, of the Odyssey batteries.
