Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What cross-drilled rotors have you guys been using? Not looking for a race setup; just need a sensible replacement for my OEMs. Would rather go with a solid aftermarket set as opposed to OEM. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

After market are not as good as OEM. The hats rust and the metal is softer, so they wear more quickly. Thus the money saved initially is not saved in the end because the OEM last longer and don't look like crap.

POST 3Original post

Zimmermans. They're cheaper and many shop use them. 1 set lasted almost the entire year on my Spec Box race car last year. That's 18 races and all the practices....

I meant the OEMs, OEM, as in get them from the dealer. Lots of Porsche parts that are counterfeit even w/ the Porsche box are hitting the streets from China. Unless I'm going to get some other aftermarket upgraded rotor for track application, there is little reason to stray from what came on the car.

POST 8Original post

Are you sure you need to replace them? If you are within the wear limits it is a waste of $$.

POST 9Original post

My rear pads are very thin and do need replaced. But in addition, my rear rotors have very rusty hats and I suspect that even though they are not appreciably worn, they are NOT genuine Porsche. I'd like to replace the whole kit & kaboodle - in one swell foop. I can get two rear rotors, pads, all new hardware, 4 new mount screws, wear sensors and the antisqueal pads that go between the pistons and the pad backs for about 440 bucks. To me that seems preeeety darn good.

So by OEM, you mean OE.

Unless you're buying from eBay, why worry about counterfeit?
