Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My '01 f/AWD RX300 has VSC/TC (PSM) and uses EFI engine fuel starvation for dethrottling the engine and thereby overcome my "hard-wired" gas pedal "input".

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What was the first MY to have E-gas? Is there PSM-equipped cars without E-gas? TIA, Pete

POST 3Original post

Er, you're pretty close, Tim. I'll give you a hint--I have a '99 with E-gas.

POST 5Original post

Quotes source post: 6145335

I thought the '99 were still drive-by-wire.

Uh........................C4......................what do I win?

POST 7Original post

Quotes source posts: 6145483, 6145541

C2s were, but all the C4s have E-gas. Sorry...people always forget about us '99 C4 owners. My everlasting respect.

POST 8Original post

Quotes source post: 6145697

Awe, that was a trick question. Hell, C4's don't count because they aren't even real Porsches, just like the rest of the 996's!

POST 9Original post

1999 C4 and then 2000 for all the other models including Boxster. You cannot have PSM without E-Gas.

POST 15Original post

See, THAT is what is great about this forum. You learn something now and then. I did not know that the '99 C4's had E-gas. My '99 C2 is drive-by-wire, and of, course is PSM-free. One nice thing about cable gas control is that the '99 C2 was the last year for a decade (until the 997.2) that you could get a mechanical LSD.

I do like the cable operated throttle. Left foot braking is possible and I also have the 220 option code. I searched quite a while for a LSD optioned car when I bought my 996. But a quick correction, the 40th anniversary 996's had an LSD as well.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
